April 2026: Midland Regional Printers Invests in DGM TechnoFold 1200 SL to Transform Gluing Production

TechnoFold 1200 SL

We’re delighted to announce that Midland Regional Printers Ltd has invested in a DGM TechnoFold 1200 folder-gluer, due to arrive in June 2026. It’s a decision rooted in a clear-eyed assessment of what modern carton production demands — and one we’re proud to have supported.

Managing Director Stephen Bates and his team came to us with a well-defined challenge. Their gluing department runs multiple make-readies and short runs every shift, across a wide range of substrates — from folding boxboard to E-flute — and formats including side seam, crash lock, and 4- and 6-corner cartons. Extended set-up times were costing them time, and money.

“Carton gluing has always been a busy process and one that is constantly operating under pressure. We needed to somehow make the whole operation slicker.”

Why the TechnoFold 1200?

During their market evaluation, servo-driven technology quickly became non-negotiable. With a high proportion of repeat sizes in the mix, the ability to recall jobs from memory and automate the make-ready process was, in Bates’s words, “a game-changer.” The TechnoFold 1200’s modular design was equally compelling — configured to exact specification today, with the ability to expand later without replacing the machine.

A visit to DGM’s Barcelona facility confirmed the decision. The demonstration was tailored to Midland Regional Printers’ own work, and the DGM technical team answered every question put to them without hesitation.

“The solution presented by DGM was quite impressive. There was a lot of machine on offer, and this flexibility allowed us to create our perfect solution.”

Arriving in June

The TechnoFold 1200 is currently being prepared for shipment and is due to arrive at Midland Regional Printers at the beginning of June. Spare parts are held in Spain with a 24-hour turnaround, and UK specialist service is handled by a select local partner — so the aftercare framework is as solid as the machine itself.

We’d like to congratulate Stephen and the whole team at Midland Regional Printers on their investment, and we look forward to seeing the TechnoFold 1200 in action.
